Pride and Prejudice Reading Review chapter 8

Pride and Prejudice Chapter 8      After I read this chapter, I felt that Caroline was dissatisfied that Mr. Bingley and Jane liked each other. She tried to interrupt them. She tried to tell Mr. Bingley that he didn't love Jane. He was thinking it by himself, and Caroline sent a letter to Jane expressing her displeasure about Jane marrying her brother. I don't understand Caroline's thinking, why she is not willing to let her brother be happy with loved ones, and why she also despises the financial situation of Jane's house. I feel very pity for Jane, but Jane is lucky to have a sister like Elizabeth. She was very good at comforting Jane and tried to tell her to only listen to Mr. Bingley and not pay attention to anyone else.

Pride and Prejudice Reading Review chapter 7

Pride and Prejudice Chapter 7      In this chapter, Mr. Collins came to Mr. Bennet’s house because he wanted to propose marriage to Elizabeth, and her mother agrees with him, but she does not want to marry him. Mrs. Bennet said if she does not marry him, Elizabeth will never see her again, but Mr. Bennet said if she gets to marry him, Elizabeth will never see him. I think Elizabeth must choose to refuse and not marry because she does not want to have love now, and Mr. Collins looks down on her family's financial status. I do not like Mr. Collins because he is a toxic person. After reading, I felt indignant.

Pride and Prejudice Reading Review chapter 6

Pride and Prejudice Chapter 6      In this chapter, I learned that Elizabeth has started to like Mr. Wickham. She is waiting to dance with him but he is going to London. And then Mr. Collins invited her to dance at a ball party, which she must have accepted, although she didn’t want to dance with him. Mr. Collins is shallow; I think he likes Miss Elizabeth. At the ball, Miss Elizabeth met Mr. Darcy, he held her hands, which made her feel astonished, and me too. I think Mr. Darcy started to like Miss Elizabeth. And then ladies in Bingley’s family looked down on Miss Eliza about Mr. Wickham. I don’t understand why they do that. I think at that time Eliza felt angry, certainly, but she could not do anything. After the ball party ends, Mrs. Bennet is very happy about Jane and Eliza; she thinks Jane will get married to Mr. Bingley and Eliza will get married to Mr. Collins soon. After I read this chapter's end, I felt pity for Elizabeth; she is a daughter who received th...

Pride and Prejudice Reading Review chapter 5

Pride and Prejudice Chapter 5      In chapter 5, two new people were added: Mr. Denny, the officer, and Mr. Wickham, who has just joined the army. I think these two have very good personalities and demeanors. Be a gentleman. And then they met Mr. Bingley, Mr. Darcy, and daughter’s Mr. Bennet. Everyone had politely greeted except Mr. Darcy; from Elizabeth’s mind "The face of one became white, the other turned red". I feel Mr. Darcy is unpleasant to meet Mr. Wickham, and I think this message can explain the situation well. And then Mr. Wickham and Miss Elizabeth accepted an invitation to supper. This invitation made them meet and talk, and between supper they talked about the Wickham family. It gave me know information about Mr. Darcy; he hates Mr. Wickham as much as I thought because Mr. Wickham is an adopted child of father’s Darcy. Even if he doesn't like Mr. Wickham, he is a generous person; he never exploits the poor, and his sisters are very, very...

Pride and Prejudice Reading Review chapter 4

Pride and Prejudice Chapter 4       After reading Chapter 4 of Pride and Prejudice, Mr. Bennett said a gentleman and a stranger would come to the house. Mrs. Bennett thinks that Mr. Bingley will come and have dinner. I think she is very excited, but Mr. Bennett was told he's not Mr. Bingley, but he is Mr. Bennett's cousin, Mr.Collins. And then the ladies have a bad expression. I think they have a bad background with Mr.Collins. So Mr.Collins came to Bennett's house for an apology, I think. He talks to the ladies politely, and his manners are respectful; it seems like the ladies are accepting his apology. But I am confused about Mrs. Bennett because she thinks she will have two daughters to get married, so I understand if Jane will get married. Certainly, I think Jane must get married to Mr. Bennett, but Elizabeth seems not to be interested in other guys. I want to know why Mrs. Bennett thinks like this.

Pride and Prejudice Reading Review chapter 3

Pride and Prejudice Chapter 3      After reading Chapter 3 of Pride and Prejudice, in  spite of Sir William's attempt to persuade Elizabeth to dance for Mr. Darcy, I believe Mr. Darcy had some interest in Elizabeth after reading Pride and Prejudice, but she is unaware of it. And after that, Miss Bingleys convinced Jane to go out to dinner. However, since Jane lacks a carriage, she must walk to Meryton with Aliza, Lydia, and Kitty in inclement weather and while suffering from hyperpyrexia. Jane shouldn't eat at supper, in my opinion, but Elizabeth had already left. And after that, Miss Bingleys convinced Jane to go out to dinner. However, since Jane lacks a carriage, she must walk to Meryton with Aliza, Lydia, and Kitty in a storm and while suffering from hyperpyrexia. Jane shouldn't eat at dinner, in my opinion, but Elizabeth had already left.      According to what I've read,I think Miss Bingley, Louisa, and Mrs. Hurst look like they don't like...

Pride and Prejudice Reading Review Chapter 2

Pride and Prejudice   Chapter 2         After reading Chapter 2, I thought Mr. Bennet had already planned to visit Mr.Bingley, but didn’t tell his wife because his wife and daughters were so excited to get to know Mr. Bingley. But his wife was in a bad mood because she thought that Mr.Bennet did not comply with her request and she was disappointed with everyone. I think she had a habit of being too focused on herself. The writer also writes that all her daughters are excited to go to the gathering because they get seen Mr.Bingley, except Elizabeth. I think Elizabeth is a person with a high self-esteem, so she doesn’t care how much to dance with a man. And then Elizabeth and Darcy first met, with Elizabeth's sense of humor and Darcy's pride. They seemed suitable, in my opinion.

Pride and Prejudice Reading Review chapter 1

Pride and Prejudice Chapter 1      After reading Chapter 1 of Pride and Prejudice, I think people in the past were serious about giving their daughters to marry too wealthy men. I think if I was the daughter of a man at that time. I still feel uncomfortable to have to marry someone who doesn’t love me or to get married just because the man is wealthy. I think it's absurd to get busted for marriage. Additionally, the author of the story claims that Mr. Bennet's wife frequently matches marriage to her daughter just because Lizzie is the smartest of all his daughters. The simple fact that a mother loves her children less just because they are less intellectual than Lizzie makes me feel if your daughter, Mr. Benet, is still extremely sadden by this.
